1979 CHRYSLER 300\'s - a one year only model and each one had the following upgrades: engine 360 V8 4 barrel (police package engine) - 195hp/280tq; 3.20 Axle Ratio; 3 speed Torqueflite Automatic Trans with High Stall converter; Suspension Handling Package (H.D. Shocks/rear sway bar/ firm-feel power steering); special Aluminum 300 road wheels; RWL tires; the big Chrysler 9 inch heavy duty rear end; in-dash Tachometer; factory red&blue pinstripes; Leather wrapped Steering Wheel; \"300\" ID badges on the exterior & interior & wheels; unique 300 only Front Grille; Front Heavy Duty disc brakes; Power Steering & Power Brakes; and a few other 300 only features; Believe it or not the 1979 300 with 360 motor was faster in the 1/4 mile than the 1955 300 with the 331 Hemi engine - 17.6 seconds v 17.25 seconds;
Car always garaged & checked on by my professional mechanic - LAST WEEK - my mechanic checked the carburetor & idle adjusted and checked all ignition components; installed new BATTERY & battery cutoff switch for long periods without driving; AC system checked out and serviced - blows nice & cool on regular AC or on MAX AC switches (see video); Heater works well too & all other AC/Heater dashboard switches work;
NEW PARTS within the last year -Mopar Chrome Rallye Wheels (15x8) with trim rings & Mickey Thompson (275/60R15) RWL radial tires (less than 500 miles on them); Front End & Suspension alignment; Alternator; Battery & Battery Cutoff Switch; Spark Plugs; Custom 300 floor mats; Splitter Exhaust Tips; A/C service;
DRIVETRAIN. Engine and accessories appear to be all original and in great working order. Last week my mechanic shop set the carburetor settings and checked all ignition components for good working order .Speedometer, Tach & all Gauges all work well !
Transmission shifts well and drives well; Steering & Suspension in good shape; Brakes operate well and pads/drums are in good shape; new Alternator & Battery on the car as well;
INTERIOR - maroon Leather interior in very nice shape (see photos); carpet is very nice; new 300 emblem floormats installed; dash is great no cracks; T-Tops in very nice shape and so are the rubber seals around them (factory T-Top bag in nice & in the trunk - see photos); headliner is in nice shape; 8 track player & AM radio work (I listen to my old 8 track collection on it) - I can\'t get the FM switch to switch from AM to FM but a good radio shop could probably fix that; Interior lights & Dash lights & Trunk light all work; CB Radio is unplugged - I had it plugged up and it would come on, but I could not get any sound out of it - maybe a good CB technician can;
PAINT & EXTERIOR - paint appears to be original with the original factory red&blue pinstripes - still has a very nice shine to it presents well; Last year I installed 1978-79 Dodge Magnum striping to the car from Phoenix Graphix - just like you could have done at the Chrysler dealership in 1979 - I like the muscle car attitude it adds to the car - however if do not care for the Magnum stripes a can of 3M decal remover will take them right off; Body is solid and appears to be Rust free (except for minor surface rust underneath) - has undercoating underneath;
