Extremely interesting find here! This came from a collection we purchased years ago and forgot about. We just moved into a brand new facility and are sorting through boxes when we were re-introduced to these!
This consists of a group of 8 packs of 1992-93 Fleer Basketball Rack Packs. Please note that the bottom strip that contained either the Team Leaders insert or the Larry Johnson was opened at some point over the years prior to our ownership. BUT - the other 2 portions of the packs are still sealed! That means you will receive 28 base cards per pack, 8 packs in all, a total of 224 pack-fresh, wax-free cards. EVEN BETTER: on the back of one of the packs, you can clearly see a Michael Jordan #32 base card!
In doing research for this lot, I noticed the complete lack of sales history for any 1992-93 Fleer basketball rack boxes. This product was basically the equivalent of today\'s \"retail\" variant and was sold at outlets like department stores. It is quite obvious that these are a modern day ghost among basketball cards, with or without the shot at a Team Leaders card. And while it sure would be nice to have the opportunity to hit one, any advanced wax collector knows that finding these in ANY condition is a big deal, not to mention the fact that you are guaranteed a Michael Jordan.
This set contains 264 cards, including three different Jordans. You will be receiving 228 cards in this lot, so the odds of another Jordan are quite high. Some notable Series 1 cards include Michael Jordan #32, #238 League Leader and #246 MVP, Larry Bird #11 and #256 Schoolyard Stars, Magic Johnson #110, Charles Barkley #178, David Robinson #206/#244/#248, Scottie Pippen #34/#254/#260, and Dennis Rodman #66/#261.
