Permatex 81849 Rust Treatment is a one-step aerosol treatment designed to stop existing rust and help prevent new rust from forming. Once applied, it quickly converts rust into a durable black polymer coating that provides a protective surface and can be painted over.The coating also functions as a protective primer and is specially formulated for compatibility with body filler and fiberglass. The aerosol spray makes it suitable for treating automotive frames, underbodies, trucks, trailers, storage tanks, pipes, valves, fences, agricultural equipment, tractors, plows, snow removal equipment, and other rusted metal surfaces.For best results, apply at temperatures between 50F and 90F (10C to 32C) and on surfaces that do not exceed 200F (93C). Marine applications should be topcoated with an appropriate marine paint.Not recommended for automotive exterior sheet metal repairs.
