7 Rhode Island Red Hatching Eggs — Fresh Eggs from Our Breeding Flock

Raise your own flock of dependable Rhode Island Reds with fresh hatching eggs from our healthy, carefully maintained breeding flock.

Rhode Island Reds are a classic American heritage breed known for their excellent brown egg production, hardiness, active nature, and usefulness as a dual-purpose bird. They are a popular choice for family farms, homesteads, and backyard flocks.

What You Will Receive

Every order contains:

  • 7 fresh Rhode Island Red hatching eggs

  • Eggs collected daily and individually selected for quality

  • Eggs from healthy, actively breeding birds

  • Careful individual foam packaging

  • USPS tracking added the evening before shipment

I regularly hatch eggs from this same breeding flock to monitor fertility, so you can buy with confidence knowing the eggs come from proven breeders.

About Rhode Island Reds

Rhode Island Reds are valued for their:

  • Dependable brown egg production

  • Excellent cold hardiness

  • Strong foraging ability

  • Adaptability to different climates and flock settings

  • Suitability for both confined and free-range environments

  • Usefulness as a productive dual-purpose breed

  • Rich red plumage

Individual chicks may vary in color, size, appearance, temperament, and eventual laying ability. Sex cannot be determined before hatching, and an order may hatch any combination of males and females.

Handling Time

Handling time is listed as up to 10 business days so that enough fresh eggs can be collected to fill every order. The eggs shipped to you will be freshly collected—not eggs that have been sitting for 10 days.

I may have several orders posted at the same time, so the handling period gives the hens enough time to lay fresh eggs for each customer. Approximately 90% of orders ship sooner than the full handling period.

Tracking will be added to your order the evening before your eggs are shipped.

Occasionally, weather, molting, illness, predator activity, seasonal laying changes, or another unexpected circumstance may temporarily affect egg production. If a delay occurs, I will contact you so you can choose whether to:

  • Wait until enough fresh eggs are available, or

  • Cancel your order for a full refund

Recommended Shipping Service

USPS Priority Mail is strongly recommended for shipments traveling more than one state away from South Carolina.

Although USPS Ground Advantage may save money, longer transit times can significantly reduce hatchability, especially during periods of extreme heat or cold. Fresh eggs generally produce the best hatch rates when they reach the incubator as quickly as possible.

Based on my experience, shipments going to the West Coast frequently require several additional days in transit. USPS Priority Mail is highly recommended for those destinations.

The shipping service selected may be taken into consideration when determining what assistance I may be able to offer if a problem occurs.

Shipping is available only within the contiguous 48 United States. I am unable to ship hatching eggs to Alaska or Hawaii.

When Your Eggs Arrive

I strongly recommend allowing shipped eggs to rest with the pointed end down for 12–24 hours before placing them in your incubator. This gives the air cells time to settle after transit.

Please follow your incubator manufacturer’s instructions carefully. Whenever possible, use accurate equipment to independently verify the temperature and humidity inside your incubator.

Important Hatchability Information

Shipped hatching eggs are fragile, and hatchability cannot be guaranteed.

Hatch rates may be affected by many factors outside my control, including:

  • Shipping time

  • Carrier handling

  • Rough handling or vibration

  • Extreme heat or cold

  • Storage after delivery

  • Delayed incubation

  • Incubator performance or calibration

  • Temperature and humidity

  • Egg-turning practices

  • Overall incubation methods

An egg that does not develop does not necessarily mean it was infertile. Shipping stress alone can damage an otherwise fertile egg or prevent normal embryo development.

I hatch eggs from this breeding flock regularly to monitor fertility before and while offering eggs for sale. However, because shipping conditions, carrier handling, weather, incubation equipment, and incubation practices are outside my control, I cannot guarantee hatch rates or offer refunds for eggs that fail to develop or hatch.

Eggs are shipped through USPS, and I cannot control how the package is handled or how quickly it moves through the postal system after USPS takes possession of it.

Broken Eggs and Shipping Damage

Each egg is individually foam-packed with great care, and packages are clearly marked for safe handling.

If your package arrives with broken eggs, please contact me immediately and provide clear photographs of:

  • The broken eggs

  • The internal packaging

  • The outside of the shipping box

  • The shipping label

Please retain the eggs, box, and all packaging materials while the claim is being addressed. I will assist you with filing the applicable USPS shipping-insurance claim.

Special Shipping Requests

Please contact me before your order ships if you would like:

  • Your package held at your local Post Office for pickup, or

  • The outside of your package not marked as containing eggs

I will be happy to accommodate either request as long as I receive your message before shipment.

Customer Care and response

I take great care to send fresh, properly selected hatching eggs from healthy birds and to package every order securely.

If you experience an issue, please contact me before leaving response. I will always do my best to help with matters within my ability to address.

Please remember that response should reflect the quality of the eggs, packaging, communication, and service provided. Shipping conditions, carrier handling, weather, incubation equipment, and incubation practices are beyond my control, so response should not be based solely on the final hatch rate.

Thank you for supporting our family farm. We truly appreciate every order and wish you the very best hatch possible.

Happy hatching! 🐣
