Believe it or not, we used to have currency that was able to be converted to gold. This is a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR GOLD CERTIFICATE. You can\'t get $10,000 in cash for it any more. It has been punch cancelled by the US government. Technically, this has the status of a cancelled check. The story was that there was a fire at a warehouse used by the Treasury. They just threw boxes of these notes out the window so they would not burn up!

This is a Freidberg 1225h. This note has been graded by PMG as Very Fine 25 with comments about a corner missing. This is still a really neat note. You don\'t have to take my word for the grade of the note, you just have to trust PMG.
