This is the classic AD&D monster sourcebook published by TSR Hobbies, product number 2012 and ISBN 0-935696-21-0. It collects an extensive alphabetical selection of monsters for AD&D adventures, including attacks, damage, special abilities, descriptions and random encounter information. The book is particularly well known for bringing creatures developed through the British gaming scene and White Dwarf’s Fiend Factory material into the official AD&D game.
The book features Emmanuel’s distinctive githyanki cover along with interior artwork by Chris Baker, Jeff Dee, Emmanuel, Albie Fiore, Alan Hunter, Russ Nicholson, Erol Otus, Jim Roslof, David C. Sutherland III, Bill Willingham, Polly Wilson and Tony Yates.
This is a well-used original TSR hardcover. The covers show substantial rubbing and scratching along with edge, corner and spine wear. There is a noticeable worn/abraded area on the upper-right portion of the front cover. The corners and spine ends show additional wear from use and age. The binding remains together, and the interior pages are clean and readable.
This is an original 1981 AD&D 1st Edition Fiend Folio rather than a later-edition Fiend Folio. It remains a solid working copy for an old-school campaign and a desirable original TSR book for an AD&D, Dungeons & Dragons or vintage RPG collection.
