A very old cloth doll with leather arms Bisque Head Antique Doll. She is 16 inches with open mouth, four teeth, sleep brown eyes. Her wig is original mohair. Her mark is 1.X
I am unsure of this maker. She has no flaws except for a small tear in her right sock which doesnt cause leaking as the kid body would.
I believe she is pre 1900 unique and rare. The old paper inside her head is dated 1892. So we know the doll was made prior to 1892. See in photos. The paper will stay with the doll.
After research I found Mary Streuber who made dolls with the bisque head as well as leather arms/hands. In 1878 Mary patented the model.
