James Deakin & Sons wasa prominent Victorian and 20th-century silversmith and electro-plate manufacturer founded in Sheffield, England, in 1866. Operating out of the Sidney Works on Matilda Street, the firm became famous for high-quality hollowware, flatware, and decorative sterling silver items. Excellent cosmetic and working condition. Patination in accordance with age. Glass eyes intact. All silver plate is clean and in good order. Hallmarked on the base. The hinge is loose and needs tightening; there are two nibbles to the glass on the base. Its Art Nouveau style and intricate animal pattern make it a unique piece that is sure to catch the eye of any admirer of antique silverware. The jug is made of glass with high-quality silver plate animal additions and dates back to the early 1900s. The item is in excellent condition and has been well-preserved throughout the years.
