A large bronze sculpture after Guillaume Coustou’s famous “Chevaux de Marly” / “Marly Horses.”
The sculpture depicts a dramatic scene of a rearing horse being restrained by a powerful horse tamer. The dynamic movement of the horse, the muscular modeling of the figure, and the dark bronze patina give the work a strong classical presence.
The base is inscribed “Coustou,” and a small metal number plate is attached to the front of the base.
This is a striking equestrian bronze suitable for a classical interior, office, study, gallery display, or private collection.
