Cased **ambrotype** of a pleasant young girl with dark hair parted in the center, dark patterned dress with full sleeves, and soft **hand-tinted rose pink cheeks**. Magnet does **not** stick (glass plate). Clear face; light surface speckles under glass; mild edge silvering at the mat.
Ornate gold brass **oval mat** with lattice/beaded oval and floral corner scrollwork. Opposite half lined with embossed **mustard / tan velvet**.
**Case:** Approx. **3" × 2 1/4"** closed. Dark embossed leatherette / composition with central sunburst and scroll design. **Does not stay together** — hinge failed; crude **leather-style tape** repair is **peeling / coming off**. **Chips** and nicks on edges and corners. Brass clasp present. Portrait and mat display well despite the case.
