About 5 years ago I helped out at an estate sale in La Jolla, CA. It was the estate of ProfessorSia Nemat-Nasser. He was a professor of mechanics and materials in the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineeringat the University of California San Diego (UCSD). This is an ancient Greco Roman mosaic remnant featuringan image of a bird /duck with stylized flowers. It is in as found condition, you can see it has been broken and repaired with missing tiles and one corner is chipped with missing tiles.
The tile is about 11 1/2\" x 11 1/2\" x just over 1\" thick. It weighs 10 lbs 4 oz before packing.
