This item is in fair antique condition.
-Title page reads: Edinburgh: Alexander Kincaid
His Majesty\'s Printer. MDCCLXIV (1764).
-Features a hand-written ink provenance inscription
on the front page: \"Timothy Cobb His Book bought
byhim in the year 1766\".
-The interior text block is in remarkably good shape
for being 260+ years old. Paper is intact, square,
and highly legible.
-The original leather binding is heavily worn and
distressed.
-The front cover has detached at the spine joint
(severed from age/handling).
-Leather on the covers and spine shows
age-related scuffing, cracking, and material loss.
-Cover did its job protecting the inside text
over the centuries.
- Exhibits expected age-related foxing, moisture spots,
and spotting near the endpapers and page edges. It is
has seen some years.
-Kept in untouched, original condition; no cleaning
or modern chemical treatments have been attempted. I
will leave that to your discretion.
-Has been kept wrapped in archival protection
to preserve it. Unwrapped briefly for pictures,
immediately wrapped back up when done.
Pages opened as minimally as possible even
for pictures/examination.
