Up for sale is an authentic, rare complete 8-volume set of \"The Spectator\", published in Philadelphia in 1803 as part of the Select British Classics series by early American printers Samuel F. Bradford, T.L. Plowman, and Robert Carr.

• ​Condition & Flaws: Good antique condition for their 220+ year age. The leather bindings show expected heavy vintage wear, surface dryness, rubbing at the edges and corners, scuffing, and minor surface chipping on the spines (including a noticeable surface tear on one spine). Additionally, one of the books is completely missing its outer leather cover on on side only, and some of the book bindings are tighter than others. The interior pages feature natural age-toning and light foxing, but the text and title pages remain bold, crisp, and fully legible. Several volumes contain charming historical owner ink signatures on the endpapers.
