Antique 1850s Hand Painted Salt Print Victorian Folk Portrait Mounted Framed
Beautifully hand painted salt print, hard to tell medium but some of the brush strokes look like either watercolor or gouache under a loupe.
Period style glass frame has a few small plaster loss spots along with the usual scuffs and marks typical of use and age.
Very nice preowned condition, colors are still saturated with no water damage or loss to paper.
Not signed and not dated, a few faded inked marks on frame back.
We were told this was bought at a Paris flea market in the 1970s.
Exterior frame size is 14.25\" height x 12.25\" width x 3\" depth.
Glass size is 9.75\" height x 7.75\" width.
