Antique 1890s 1900s Victorian Edwardian Cotton Calico Skirt Ruffles 26” Waist For Sale

Beautiful original late Victorian to early Edwardian skirt, dating to approximately 1895–1905. Made from lightweight ivory cotton with a delicate allover blue floral sprig print. The skirt has an exceptionally full, sweeping silhouette with gathered fullness at the waistband and a softly trailing hem.The lower portion is finished with layered ruffles edged in delicate lace, with piping at the bottom hem. The small-scale blue print against the ivory ground is particularly charming and gives the skirt a wonderful period calico look.The waist measures approximately 26 inches. The original closure is no longer present; there are two buttonholes but no button. I have added the pink velvet ribbon shown in the photographs, which can be used to secure and somewhat adjust the waist. Waist to hem measures approximately 41 inches in the front and 49 inches in the back. Condition is consistent with a wearable antique textile of this age. There is overall age-related discoloration, a tear of approximately 2 inches at the front/side waistband seam (close ups ninth and tenth photographs), a tear above and below the pocket (please see eleventh photo), and wear along the bottom from the long hem having dragged during use.
