Antique Victorian family photograph album dating to approximately the 1890s. Features a burgundy/red fabric-covered exterior with ornate raised bird, oak leaf and acorn decoration, decorative metal clasp, gilt page edges and beautifully illustrated interior pages with colorful birds, flowers and foliage.
Album contains 20 original antique photographs featuring women, children, infants and family portraits. Includes photographs from identified Wisconsin photographers, including B. Baumgarten of Tomah Wisconsin. Photographs vary in size and format and appear to date primarily from the late 19th to early 20th century.
A wonderful intact collection of Victorian-era photography and an attractive decorative album in its own right.
Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear throughout. Exterior fabric shows fading, discoloration, fraying and areas of loss/wear. Interior pages show toning, spotting/foxing, edge wear and other age-related wear. Some photograph openings are empty. Metal clasp and applied cover decoration show age-related wear. Please review all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
