Exquisite 1920s Art Deco ring mesh flapper party purse. Inside the decorative goldtone frame is stamped “Whiting & Davis Mesh Bags Reg US.” Colors are dark pink, plum, and green on a dark silver gray background.The design features colorful pansies with chevron fringe at the base. Lined in lilac satin with an interior pocket holding a small compact mirror—see photos. Measures 4” wide by 6” in length not counting clasp at top. Original delicate goldtone chain handle is 12” in length.Clasp snaps securely. No dents in frame, or tears or stains on interior satin. The stitches holding the satin lining to the frame are tiny and mostly intact though a few stitches are missing at one side—visible in photo.For an object that is 100 years old, this purse is in exceptional condition.
