Description:
Rare antique Western saddle made by A.J. Williamson of Casper, Wyoming.
The saddle is clearly maker-marked in multiple locations:
A.J. Williamson
Maker
Casper, Wyo.
Approximate 16-inch seat.
This is an authentic early Western saddle with beautiful aged leather, decorative tooling, original-style hardware, conchos, stirrups, and excellent natural patina. A.J. Williamson was a known Casper, Wyoming saddlemaker whose work dates to the early 20th century, making this a great piece for a Western collection, ranch display, cowboy memorabilia collection, or restoration project.
The saddle shows considerable age and use, including leather cracking, surface wear, dried areas, worn fleece/sheepskin underneath, and evidence of older repairs. I have not restored or heavily treated the leather so the original character and patina remain intact.
Because of its age, I am selling this primarily as an antique/collectible display saddle and cannot guarantee it is safe for riding without inspection by a qualified saddle professional.
