Up for sale is an exceptional piece of early computing and office history: an original antique Bennett Typewriter carrying case. This hard-sided travel case features the iconic "BENNETT" name stenciled across the top lid.
Dating back to the early 1910s, this rare case opens up to reveal its original, soft greenish-gray felt lining completely intact. It features the incredibly rare, original leather-covered ink pad storage case permanently built into the center floor. This compartment was specifically designed to house the proprietary ink pads unique to the ultra-compact Bennett wheel mechanism. The lower leather tie-down strap used to lock the typewriter chassis to the case base is still intact. An outstanding steampunk aesthetic piece for typewriter collectors, industrial decor, or historical office displays.
