A 7-volume broken set of Reade's Works by Victorian author Charles Reade, featuring three-quarter leather bindings with marbled paper boards and matching marbled edges. The collection includes notable novels such as Hard Cash, Love Me Little, Love Me Long, White Lies, Foul Play, Griffith Gaunt, A Woman-Hater, and The Cloister and the Hearth.
The set is in poor, heavily damaged condition. The top book in the stack is completely missing its front cover board. Throughout the volumes, the leather spines and corners are severely dry-rotted, flaking, and crumbling. Multiple covers and structural pages are ripped, loose, or completely detached, with heavy wear and fraying visible along all edges, exposed binding elements, and significant scuffing to the marbled paper surfaces.
