Antique European Silver (Solid) Vase w/Ram Head, Stamps And XRF-Tested 8.3+ OzT For Sale

This is an antique European solid silver vase that has been confirmed as an approximately .800 to .950 level of fineness.By this, I mean I had sent it in to a scrapper before realizing its value as an antique. They made me an offer as if it were Sterling (which I declined) and then sent it back to me in a bag marked \'Sterling\' with some other Sterling silver items. I should have asked the exact purity but didn\'t.The yellowish tint you see in photos is not a brass layer showing through (as if it were plating only)--it is the less common form of silver tarnish that\'s yellowish rather than black, and is formed from silver sulfides. It can be polished away if desired.The piece also passes a Sterling silver fineness acid test, although these are notoriously difficult to interpret.Lastly, I was able to narrow down the stamps to those from continental Europe in/around the late 1800\'s. specifically, from either the newly-unified Germany or one of its predecessor states. I did this with some help from a question/answer forum I can\'t name without having \'s lazy AI-based violations checking software flag my listing. I am happy to provide these details but, because of the inconsistencies and variability of stamps from this region at this time, it only confirms it\'s solid silver and doesn\'t narrow down its purity.Alright, done. It just drives me nuts when vendors list important attributes of precious metal-based collectibles and then don\'t explain how they determined these parameters.I will update this listing if I can get the company to look through their records and see if they recorded the fineness from the XRF. However, it\'s guaranteed to be at least .800 fine and is likely higher than .900 (into Sterling territory).Condition: Oh, that\'s another thing--it\'s defintely soft like high-purity silver is, and both the feet and the rim have some \'give\' to them. The legs/feet can become uneven with each other if you roughly handle them, but they can be gently compelled back into position by hand. Just be aware that antique pieces like this are not entirely rigid!The condition is otherwise great but has seen the better part of two centuries of wear.Please see photos.Shipping included!Thank you!
