Antique Galluba & Hofmann Bisque Bathing Beauty Red Wig 4.25” Reclining
This charming antique Galluba & Hofmann bathing beauty measures approximately 4.25 inches long. She reclines in a playful pose with one leg raised and the other bent, wearing delicately painted blue shoes with ankle straps. Her expressive painted face, rosy coloring, and full auburn wig give this little figure wonderful presence. An impressed number appears on the underside.
Galluba & Hofmann was a German maker especially admired for its finely modeled bathing beauties of the early 20th century. This example is particularly appealing for its animated pose and detailed face.
Condition: The foot that rests on the ground appears to have a well-executed repair. There is light age-related wear and soiling to the bisque and paint, and the wig has some stray hairs. Please examine the close-up photographs, especially those of the repaired foot, as they form part of the condition description.
