Antique Wolf & Knell Hanau Silver Encased Etched Glass Perfume / Scent Bottle

A rare, complete antique late 19th-century German silver-encased vanity scent bottle by the renowned Hanau silversmiths Wolf & Knell (operating circa 1887–1914). Unlike most surviving examples on the secondary market, this piece retains its original matching silver-mounted ground-glass stopper.

Design & Construction:The bottle features a heavy, beveled cut-crystal body decorated with delicate acid-etched foliate scrolls. The lower section is fitted with a chased, openwork repoussé silver sleeve ("skirt") showcasing ornate scrolling motifs. The faceted neck collar is silver-mounted and holds the matching rectangular silver-topped stopper securely.

Hallmarks:Clearly struck on the underside rim with four authentic Wolf & Knell Hanau pseudo-hallmarks:
