Antique ornate vanity stool, ottoman by the Heywood Brothers Company circa 1880/1920's. This exceptional stool, features a round top, with a stick and ball skirt, mounted on four ball decorated wicker wrapped legs. This example is structurally sound and sturdy, it is in very good, original with the exception that at some point a long time ago it had been painted. Small pieces were of paint flakes off. It has 2 broken small wicker pieces on the side (shown in pictures). Please see images. There is possibly a label underneath the paint. No missing balls.
Heywood Brothers was the predecessor to the iconic Heywood Wakefield Company, and was in existence prior to the merger. This is definitely a rare find!
