An 1890 ornate magnifying glass with a broken celluloid frame that holds the magnifying glass lens. The celluloid frame is inscribed " J.D. Bishop Brooklyn, NY. JUNE 1890." The embossed floral and vine patterned handle is not marked so we will guess that it is not sterling. The celluloid is missing a piece and it has been taped together to display on a table. The glass is not glued in. It would be interesting to find out the history behind the inscription!
