An outstanding, large-scale (28\") French Bebe featuring an exquisite bisque head made by Simon & Halbig for Jumeau / SFBJ, circa 1900. This doll exhibits exceptional quality facial painting, her original fully jointed French body in its original finish, cork pate and original hand tied human hair wig, and original breathtaking antique French cotton and lace layered costume complete with clover-stamped leather shoes and stockings.
Head & Facial Features
Head & Marks: Bisque socket head incised DEP 13. Features a thick, original hand-tied brunette human hair wig over a cork pate.
Eyes & Expression: Large, luminous blue glass paperweight inset eyes set within dark eyeliner encompassing the eyecut. Includes incised eyeliner, lushly painted lower lashes, real upper lashes, and widely arched, multi-feathered brushstroked eyebrows.
Mouth & Details: Open mouth with shaded/accented lips, fine row of porcelain teeth, shaded nostrils, and pierced ears adorned with gorgeous red earrings fashioned from antique materials.

Body Type: Original French composition and wood fully jointed ball-jointed body.
Stringing: Restring/elastic is firm and good—holds poses well.

Dress & Undergarments:
Wearing an original, exquisite French layered costume crafted from fine cotton and French lace, decorated with detailed embroidery and floral appliqués. Complete with antique stockings.
Footwear: Very well-preserved black leather shoes embossed/imprinted with a clover symbol on the soles.
Condition Report
Bisque Head: Generally Excellent. Perfect bisque head free of hairlines or cracks. Under 10x magnification, there is what appears to be a pinhead-sized flake or minor color rub at the corner of one eye. It is extremely difficult to discern even under magnification and does not detract from her display beauty in any way, but is noted for absolute transparency.
Body: Original composition body retaining its original finish. Exhibits normal, expected age-related wear, including minor chips (primarily at the hand tips and joint sockets), crazing, and light surface marks consistent with age.
Costume & Shoes: Overall in very good condition. The layered cotton and lace costume shows minor age-related discoloration and some rips on the ribbon but remains structurally sound and presents beautifully. The antique leather shoes are exceptionally well preserved, with one shoe having a small split along the back seam of the heel.
