Here is a great Antique Engraving of a Wedding Scene for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!

This Antique Engraving is in very nice condition and is in a beautiful oak frame with glass over the engraving.

The engraving is entitled, "La Veille Des Noces" and was printed by Amadee and Eugene Varin. After Anton Dieffenbach. Published by either Goupil or Knoedler. The engraving was done in France in 1865.

The engraving captures a Wedding eve: open-air feast with, at center, the young couple standing before an old man (maybe the preacher); at left, two young woman making flower wreaths, and pedlar selling his wares to two women; at right, woman plucking poultry, and man hanging a pig to a wall; in the background, peasants decorating a house, drinking, carrying barrels and baking bread.

Some minor brown spots around the perimeter of the piece. A couple of marks in the area under the engraving by the title and engraving information. No watermarks, tears, or repairs.

Beautiful oak frame here. Nice exposed graining with simple detailing. The glass is intact, no cracking or blistering. The hanging wire is on the frame and the piece is sealed up from the back.

The Framed Engraving is 34-1/8" tall, by 43" across, by 1-5/8" wide. The engraving showing thru the frame is 27.75" tall by 37.25" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make anoffer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.

I have had a lot of clients use blanket ship companies like on UShip, Antiques Express or one of the national moving chains for higher end pieces like this one. Wehave also had our customers use the local UPS store for packing and shipping. We will also offer to deliver the Antique Engraving within 100 miles of Georgetown, DE one way. Price would be $.70 per mile for the round trip delivery plus any tolls/parking fees.So,for example, if 40 miles to your property and $10 in tolls, it would be$66 (2*40*$.70+$10) for seller to deliver item to you.
