An antique Malayer rug from the Hamadan region of west side, woven circa 1900. A deep indigo field holds a bold, angular medallion in madder rust with anchor pendants, set within rust spandrels accented by sky-blue corner motifs.
The ground is scattered with stylized blossoms and small geometric devices in coral, ivory, gold and pale blue, drawn with the confident geometry the region is known for. It's framed by a navy border of rosettes on a gold meandering vine between ivory guard stripes.

Condition: Very good antique condition. Full, lustrous pile with rich, saturated color. Light wear in small areas of the upper spandrels (see photos).
