Up for sale is a rare, highly collectible antique brass 3-tier tiffin box (traditional stackable lunch carrier) featuring exceptional Middle Eastern / Islamic artisan craftsmanship. This piece features a unique "spoon-lock" mechanism, where a solid brass fork and spoon feature threaded screw-ends that thread securely through side brackets to hold the entire vertical unit together for transport. The exterior of each container is deeply hand-engraved with rhythmic geometric designs and cross-cultural motifs. Traditionally, these antique brass tiffin carriers feature a protective interior tin lining to make them safe for food use. On this specific piece, the underside of the lid still retains its solid, intact tin lining. However, much of the lining inside the three stackable food containers has worn away over time, leaving a heavily oxidized brass interior best suited for decorative display. The top lid also features its original heavy-gauge curved carrying handle. Notably, the inner middle container features a hand-stamped artisan hallmark/maker's mark, providing immense value for collectors of historic metalware.
