Absolutely stunning Japanese bamboo Ikebana flower basket (Hanakago). This traditional flower arrangement basket is in excellent condition with little wear and no damage noted. It is handwoven dark-toned bamboo or split wood and features intricate geometric patterns. Flared, elaborately woven open-work rim and pedestal feet. Historically crafted to hold seasonal flowers during Ikebana practice or tea ceremonies. This stands 20" high and is 7.5" at its widest. The base is 4" by 4".
