Authentic Early 20th-Century Otis Elevator Call Button Faceplate
Up for sale is a original, cast brass/bronze elevator call button plate manufactured by the iconic Otis Elevator Company. This early Beaux-Arts / Classic Revival style piece features crisp relief work, including an ornate egg-and-dart inner border, corner leaf flourishes, bold raised \"UP\" and \"DOWN\" text, and the signature interlocked OTIS logo enclosed in a laurel wreath.
Condition: Excellent vintage salvage condition. The plate retains a beautiful, deep, natural dark bronze patina with light highlight wear on the raised lettering and borders. It has been conservatively cleaned to remove loose surface dirt and verdigris without stripping away its historic character or original finish.
Buttons & Hardware: Complete with both original dark composition/bakelite directional push buttons.
Backing & Housing: Includes the original rear metal housing and electrical mounting assembly attached to the back, making it a complete, solid specimen—not just a hollow front shell.
Markings: Features original cast manufacturing numbers embossed on the back components.
