This listing is for a set of 6 very scarce antique ironstone "London" plates made by Powell, Bishop & Stonier. These stunning celadon-green with gold & pink plates are estimated to have been produced in the late 1800s and carry the maker's mark "P. B. & S." on the back of each plate.
These feature London landmark transfer ware decorations that are different on each plate, along with beautiful bird and foliage illustrations.
This set of 6 features the following landmarks:
Royal Albert Hall
The Houses of Parliament
Mansion House
St. Paul's Cathedral
Marble Arch Hyde Park
Royal Exchange
There is gold loss around the edges and general wear, but considering their age, they are in remarkably good condition.
These plates are approximately 9" in diameter.
Powell, Bishop & Stonier was in business 1878-1891, and was formerly Livesley, Powell & Co. during the years 1851-1866.
These will ship insured and double boxed.
