Description: Source unknown, to be determined. Provenance: L. A. de Vries (not in Lugt)Artists and Engravers: Made by \'Johann Passini\' after \'Johann Adam Klein\'. Johann Nepomuk Passini (1798-1819) was an Austrian engraver, watercolorist of landscapes, portraits and genre scenes from Vienna. Johann Adam Klein (Nuremberg 1792 - Munich 1875) was a German painter and engraver. He was initially trained by Georg Christoph von Bemmel, apprenticed to the studio of Ambroise Gabler in 1805, and studied at the Vienna Academy of Arts from 1811 to 1818. His battle scenes gained him his greatest reputation.
Subject: Antique print, titled: \'Friedrich Kaiser …\' - Portrait of the engraver Friedrich Kaiser (1779-1819) was a German painter and engraver from Ulm. He was a pupil of Christian von Mechel in Basel.
Condition: Very good, given age. Ample margins General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
