This antique advertising plate was a promotional giveaway piece from around 1900 to 1915. It is custom-stamped for the California Market Co. located in Bakersfield, California. The central portrait depicts Queen Louise of Prussia, and was inspired by famous 19th-century German paintings. This plate is stamped Imperial China on the back. It has a gold filigree border which was considered a fine-quality blank. The plate is in very good antique condition with no chips or hairlines. It measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter.
