The May 1922 issue of Asia: The American Magazine on the Orient, Volume XXII, Number 5 — a companion piece to the June 1922 issue, with several of the same contributors continuing their serialized work. Roy Chapman Andrews, leader of the Third Asiatic Expedition of the American Museum of Natural History, contributes \"Politics and Paleontology,\" reporting from the field as his expedition prepares to depart Peking for Mongolia. Gertrude Emerson, associate editor of Asia, contributes a profile of Gandhi as a religious politician — written after direct access to the Mahatma during her recent stay in India.
Other highlights include Armen Ohanian\'s \"Dancer of Shamakha\" installment set in Baku, a pictorial on the Children of Kyoto, Sadao Imada on moving pictures and Japan, Charles H. Smith on Siberia, Wats of Bangkok with illustrations, an Igorot love song from the Philippines, and poems by Dhan Gopal Mukerji. A rich, globe-spanning issue in good vintage condition with age-appropriate cover wear.
