The Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre is the most important Christian shrine, located in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, at the traditionally believed site of the Passion, crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The metal relic capsule bears the inscription: “Ex S. Rupe M. Calvario.” The back of the cross is marked “Jerusalem.” Approximate dimensions: 20 × 12 cm (7.9 × 4.7 inches).
