This receiver was manufactured in Japan by LUX Corporation — the company behind Luxman — and is associated with the Luxman FQ-900 platform.
The heritage is not speculation: the rear chassis of this exact receiver is clearly marked:
“B.I.C. 71/3R SOLID STATE STEREO RECEIVERMFD. BY LUX CORP. — JAPAN”
The 71/3R comes from an early and fascinating period of Luxman\'s presence in the U.S. market and is considerably less commonly encountered today than the familiar Pioneer, Marantz, Sansui and Kenwood receivers of the same era.

The beautiful brushed-aluminum faceplate remains remarkably attractive.
The large black tuner window has excellent visual presence, while the original silver and black controls give this receiver an unmistakable early-1970s appearance.
The lettering and control markings remain highly presentable.
The metal cabinet is also in very good vintage condition.
There are light cosmetic signs of age and previous ownership, including several small marks along the upper aluminum trim and minor marks on the cabinet.
These have intentionally been photographed rather than hidden.
Overall, this is an exceptionally attractive surviving example of a rare LUX Corporation-built IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE
The Frequency/Hz turnover-selector lever is slightly loose.
The control itself OPERATES PROPERLY.
This minor mechanical looseness DOES NOT affect audio performance or normal operation of the receiver.
