Cholla Cactus \'Colorado White\" (C. imbricata) - COLD HARDY For Sale

Cylindropuntia imbricata \'Colorado White\' is our introduction of a white-flowering Tree Cholla. The original plant is from Pueblo, Colorado. Plants should be at least zone 5 hardy as the area historically got to -25F but in summer reaches temperatures of 110F. This plant has performed well for us in the high desert of Oregon but is best if pruned at the base to encourage a strong upright growth. This plant differs from the others on the market in that if you water after it blooms and periodically do so, it will bloom again and again until winter. Plants generally bloom from May-September. Unless frequent pruning is done make space for this one as it can get 5 feet or so tall and 4-5 feet wide. This plant is a very heavy blooming plant. More than the typical magenta flowered tree cholla.
