Utilizing AI Enhancement Upscaling Technology to Improve Video Quality
The music videos in this collection have been restored and digitally remastered to greatly improve the video quality of the original releases (results may vary). Please bear in mind, some of these music videos are over 40+ years old. Even with AI restoration and digital upscaling applied, the videos will still show their age when compared to modern day music videos. There is just no way around it. With that said, even though the music videos in this collection have been upscaled to "HD" resolution, the videos are not true native HD and are still technically STANDARD DEFINITION [with visual enhancements] and maintain their original 4:3 aspect ratio (no 16:9 widescreen format). This is due to the fact that there were limitations in the technology used to record at the time. Unfortunately, there were no HD cameras back in the 1980s. So a video from the 80s can never be native 1080p, 1440p or 4K. Still, with all things considered, restoration and upscaling does improve video quality by reducing artifacts and heavy pixilation (which contributes to blurry video quality). Other things like color accuracy and fine details are also improved with AI upscaling, resulting in clearer and sharper video quality.
Native Resolution vs AI Upscale Resolution (very brief explanation):
Native resolution [in video] refers to the original resolution of the source material. In the case with all of the music videos from the 80s, their native resolution was 480p or lower at the time of their release. In otherwords, 80s video quality is inferior by today's standards.
AI upscaling refers to the process of using artificial intelligence algorithms to increase the native resolution of an image or a video. This involves creating new pixels of image information to add detail where there wasn’t any before, filling in the gaps to recreate a higher-resolution image or video. This creates a sharper, high-def version of the original low resolution media. This AI technology was used to enhance the low resolution 80s music videos in this collection.
Realistic Expectations
In an effort to be fully transparent, we are providing as much information as possible in this listing. This way, potential buyers who view this listing know exactly what they are getting if they decide to make a purchase.
While restoration and upscaling does improve the video quality of these old music videos from the 80s, it doesn't mean that a music video from 1981, for example, suddenly becomes the 4K equivalent of a music video released in 2025. It is simply not possible and it would be misleading to suggest that this is the case. Please have realistic expectations.
Note:We chose NOT to crop and stretch most of the videos, as cropping and/or stretching an 80s music video to widescreen often ruined the artistic presentation that the artists and video directors had envisioned when creating the videos. Therefore, the majority of the videos maintain the original 4:3 format - which is great for the purists out there.
Alert📢:F1ash drives have skyrocketed in price - jumping by 100% to over 120% for many capacities. This is due to the massive boom in Artificial Intelligence.
