You are buying a producing culture: media, larvae and pupae. The adult flies you can see are the smallest part of it, and they only live about two weeks anyway. Some or all of the adults dying in transit is normal and is not a failed culture. Set the cup upright at 70 to 75°F out of direct sun. New flies emerge within days.
