Edgar Negret (1920–2012) is one of Latin America’s foremost20th-century sculptors. His work, composed of painted metal geometricstructures, uniquely blends Constructivist rigor with symbolic spirituality.Influenced by Concrete art, he created sculptures that evoke ritual machines,mythical architectures, and mental landscapes. In parallel, his graphic workechoed the same visual language, using flat color, clean lines, and precisecomposition. In both metal and print, Negret transformed form into a poetic anduniversal language.

Edgar Negret (1920–2012) es uno de los grandes escultoreslatinoamericanos del siglo XX. Su obra, basada en estructuras geométricas demetal pintado, logra una fusión única entre el arte constructivo y unaespiritualidad simbólica. Influenciado por el arte concreto, creó esculturasque evocan máquinas rituales, arquitecturas míticas y paisajes mentales.Paralelamente, desarrolló una obra gráfica coherente con su escultura,utilizando planos de color, líneas puras y composiciones que refuerzan suuniverso visual. Tanto en metal como en papel, Negret convirtió la forma en unlenguaje poético y universal.
