The ESEE-4 is one of those fixed blades that doesn't need much of an introduction. It's a straightforward, American-made work knife built around a thick full-tang piece of 1095 carbon steel, with a 4.5" drop-point blade and textured G10 handles. It's compact enough to actually carry but stout enough for camping, hiking, bushcraft, field work, and the kind of jobs where you want a fixed blade you don't have to baby.
1095 is a proven carbon steel known for toughness and ease of sharpening, and ESEE protects the majority of the blade with its durable powder coating. Like any 1095 knife, the exposed edge should be kept clean and lightly oiled to prevent corrosion, especially after exposure to moisture.
