Early 19th C. Slipware Faux Bois Teapot Hinged Pewter Lid:

Up for your consideration is an early19th century English teapot decorated with a slip glaze to imitate the grain of wood (faux bois), over which there is another glaze that pools around the edges in blue like pearlware. It has an attached hinged pewter lid with a finial in the shape of a tree. This lovely teapot stands about 6 1/2” tall and 7 1/2” at the widest point (from tip of spout to the handle). There are no chips, nicks, or cracks on the outside but significant crazing on the inside. (There is also a little lump of pottery on the inside rim, but it was part of the manufacturing.
