Early 20th C Yoruba Pair Ibedji Twin Figures Head Post Dolls or Dance Wands For Sale

This listing is for a pair of 20th century Ibeji twin figures recently purchased from a private collection in NJ. Each has a hand carved head with straight post type bodies similar to the Omolangidi dolls. The face feature exaggerated eyes, protruding lips and worn flat noses. One of them has the remnants of a Nigerian antiquities tag around his neck. Each measures 8 5/8\".Condition: There is a large split in one of the dolls and both of their nose have worn nose from touch. One is darker than the other and there is an old break in the hair of one. We purchased the collection of late 19th and early 20th century Nigerian artifacts collected between approx. 1950-70. There are over 50 pieces with a focus on ceremonial, ritual and spiritual tools and also a collection of West African currency manilla bracelets. Many are rare museum quality pieces including Ifa Divination tools, cowrie shrines and fetishes and Eshu figures.Be sure to check my listings for the other pieces from the same collection.
