From Coast to Coast- On September 25, 1513, the Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa became the first European to sight the Pacific Ocean. Departing from the city of Santa María la Antigua del Darién, which he had founded two years earlier, he crossed the Isthmus of Panama with 190 Spanish soldiers and a thousand Indigenous people, eventually reaching the Pacific coast.
This historical comic recounts the events of that crossing—filled with traps, attempted betrayals, and confrontations with Indigenous peoples—which would culminate in the discovery of an ocean still unknown to Europeans. Avrack-The Lord of the Falcons - Jorge Pinedo’s nights always end the same way. He has already visited almost every bar in the Caribbean, and from all of them he has been kicked out when his drunkenness becomes unbearable for the rest of humanity. But on this particular night, Jorge can no longer live with the memory of Graciela and decides to end his life. To do so, he approaches the cliff overlooking the sea. He lets himself fall, knowing that one way or another he will die.
What he does not know is that he is being watched. Someone has other plans for him: he is extracted from reality, implanted with the knowledge of a strange language, and given a treatment to alter his musculature. Jorge awakens on the back of a giant falcon, riding it as if it were a horse.
