Esterline-Angus AW Graphic Chart Recorder DC Ammeter 0-400 Vintage c1950
Excellent piece of mid-century American industrial and scientific instrumentation made by The Esterline-Angus Company, Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana. This portable electromechanical recording voltmeter/chart recorder was designed to continuously record DC electrical measurements onto a moving paper chart, creating a permanent time-based record rather than simply displaying an instantaneous reading.
The photographs show the original black metal carrying cabinet with handle and hinged front door, curved 0–25 Volts D.C. scale, internal chart-drive mechanism, chart paper and the original Esterline-Angus manufacturer's identification plates. Records 0 to 400 pulses per minute. Also indicates 400+ as infinity. Comes with 4309-X paper roll installed.
This is an especially attractive collectible for a laboratory, electrical engineering, telecommunications, power-generation, scientific-instrument or industrial-history collection. The exposed precision mechanism also gives it strong display appeal.
