Fender Classic Series '70s Stratocaster 2000 2001 Olympic White MIM Reissue For Sale

This is a Fender Classic Series ’70s Stratocaster, made in Mexico in 2000/2001, finished in Olympic White with a maple neck and the classic large ’70s-style headstock.This one has developed a ton of character over the years. The Olympic White has aged into a warm vintage cream, with visible finish checking and crazing throughout the body. There are longer checking lines along with smaller spiderwebbed areas, scratches, scuffs and dings from normal use. It’s the kind of wear that gives an older white Strat some personality rather than looking like something that spent 25 years untouched in a case.There are also two noticeable sticker shadows where stickers protected the original finish from aging. Those areas stayed closer to the original Olympic White while the exposed finish around them naturally yellowed over time. They make the aging particularly obvious and add to the guitar’s well-played look.Where this guitar really shines is how it plays. The neck is dead straight, the intonation has been properly set, and it plays fantastic up and down the neck. It’s set up and ready to play, not a project guitar that needs to go straight to the bench.The finish checking shown in the photos appears to be cosmetic rather than structural cracking of the body. The maple neck has also taken on a nice amber color with age, and the hardware shows normal oxidation and wear consistent with the guitar’s age.This is not a mint collector-piece example. It’s an honest, roughly 25-year-old Fender with plenty of character and a great naturally aged look, while still being a genuinely excellent-playing Strat.
