You can remove salt corrosion and tarnish from silver quickly using a simple chemical reaction.
The Aluminum Foil and Baking Soda Method For Removing Salt Corrosion & Tarnish From Silver
Line a container: Cover the bottom of a glass or ceramic bowl with aluminum foil, keeping the shiny side facing up.
Add the silver: Place your silver items directly onto the foil so they touch the metal surface.
Add baking soda and salt: Sprinkle 1 to 2 tablespoons of baking soda and a tablespoon of salt over the items.
Pour hot water: Pour boiling or hot water into the container until the silver pieces are completely submerged.
Soak: Let the items sit for 2 to 5 minutes while the electrochemical reaction transfers the dark oxidation to the foil.
Rinse and dry: Remove the silver using tongs, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and buff dry with a soft cloth.
