This is a string-bound portfolio of photographs ofGrand Island Nebraska from circa 1898. The photographshave a beautiful sepia tone and lots of detail. Each has a caption beneath.
There are10 pages of photographs.The page measures 7x5.5inches (18 x 14 cm). The full-page photos measure approximately 5.5 x 4 inches (14 x 10 cm). There is also one 13\" (33 cm)wide folded panoramic of Downtown Grand Island. The cover and title pages are damaged. There is a wave to the pages that will probably flatten easily.
Produced by the Albertype Company as a set of mechanical photogravure prints. It is undated but based on similar books in my collection, and the lack of automobiles in the pictures, it probably dates from 1895-1903.
