The HH Scott model 296 \"The King of Scott Integrated Amplifiers\" is an extremely high-quality integrated amplifier with 2 channels and 4 inputs. It features an original walnut wood case and inputs for 2 types of phonograph players, tape recorders, SACD or CD Players and even microphones for versatile connectivity options. It even has a Subwoofer/ center channel output as well as the Left and Right channels.
Because of the huge power and output transformers this model is known for its superior sound quality and performance, making it a popular choice among audiophiles and music enthusiasts looking to enhance their home audio experience. I am including the original 296 operating manual ( try to find one of those now! ) as well as the original Walnut case, instructions by NOS Valves on easy biasing the tubes ( I just biased them after 18 months and they were spot on! ). Also updated gold speaker connectors come with it. Oh yes, I am also including a new set of top of the line Tung-Sol 7591A output tubes!

Model 296 - the 2 means 2 channels and the 96 means total watts output which means 48 watts per channel. That 48 watts per channel is very conservative with many tube amp designers today say it seems closer to 60 watts per channel. This 296 amp was rebuilt about 5 years ago by Craig at NOS Valves, considered one of the best tube amp rebuilders of Scott amps, he’s done a total of 6 Scott amps for me alone. From the very first (a 299C) he asked do you want the regular rebuild with good capacitors and resistors or the pro build with the best capacitors and top of the line resistors? Let’s go for the pro build I said and even though it was almost twice the price and holy moly it was well worth it! Those magnificent transformers are worth it. The sound is absolutely stunning with huge soundstage (wide and deep) - female vocals put them right in front of you (if they’re cute, it’s a nice feeling!) and Roy Orbison never sounded better.
